Lieutenants Sam and Shania are the new Senior Kroc Officers of The Salvation Army Atlanta Kroc Center.

They come with their two children, Elisha and Amaris. Our new pastors are joining a phenomenal team of employees and volunteers at the Kroc Center and look forward to serving the Pittsburgh community as they take on the Kroc Center Leadership.

Lieutenant Sam Mhasvi

is a proud lifelong Salvationist born to Salvation Army Officers, Lt. Colonels Henry & Evan Mhasvi, in Zimbabwe. He spent most of his childhood in Malawi where his parents were Missionary Officers of The Salvation Army. Sam is a musician and artist who takes pride in using his gifts “Soli Deo Gloria” (For the Glory of God Alone). His gifts were nurtured in The Salvation Army and Lieutenant Sam testifies that Music and Arts played a crucial part in his journey to salvation. Lieutenant Sam attended college at Lander University in Greenwood, SC, where he double majored in Computer Graphic Design and Music Performance. After college, he took on the role of Assistant Divisional Music and Arts Director for The Salvation Army in North & South Carolina working with both Youth and Adults in music and arts ministry. While in this role in the Carolinas, God put a burning desire in Lieutenant Sam’s heart to preach the good news of Jesus to all the world. Lieutenant Sam aspires always to reach the world for Jesus and to use all that he has and all that he is for the Glory of God Alone.

Lieutenant Shania Mhasvi

is a third-generation Salvationist who was born and raised in the coastal city of Biloxi, Mississippi. She felt God’s call to ministry at a young age, and because of this, took part in many of the programs The Salvation Army offered in her hometown. Due to the impact The Salvation Army has had on her own life, Lieutenant Shania stands firm in a well-known Salvation Army slogan that says, “Heart to God and Hand to Man”. She briefly attended the University of Southern Mississippi before moving to North Carolina where she met her husband, Lieutenant Samuel Mhasvi. She, along with her husband, are graduates of the Evangeline Booth College in Atlanta, Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Arts in Practical Ministries. During Lieutenant Shania’s time in the city of Atlanta, she hopes to grow her relationship with those in the community and be used by God in whatever capacity He has planned for her. She loves to serve others and seeks to be an instrument of His love, grace, mercy, and compassion.
